We are delighted to announce that we have partnered with Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired to provide braille translations of all wall text and labels, alongside Swell Touch prints of select paintings in the exhibition.

Eleanor D. Wilson Museum Connects Worldwide Through the Bloomberg Connects App
For art lovers across the Hollins University community and globe, access to the collections, programs, and student projects of Hollins’ Eleanor D. Wilson Museum (EDWM) is now just a tap away.
The EDWM launched its digital guide on Bloomberg Connects, a free culture app developed by Bloomberg Philanthropies. The app connects users with more than 900 museums, galleries, gardens, historic sites, and cultural spaces worldwide.
Hollins’ on-campus museum is part of the first Bloomberg Connects cohort dedicated to academic museums and galleries. The EDWM digital guide, coordinated by Laura Ilawan ’17, the museum’s visitor services and programs coordinator, enables Hollins to reach a broad audience—from alumnae to local Roanoke community members, increasing the museum’s public profile and accessibility.

The Eleanor D. Wilson Museum at Hollins University features the works of renowned, emerging, and regional artists. The museum presents exhibitions in a wide variety of media and genres, including selected exhibitions from the permanent collection. With programming such as artist talks, workshops, and tours, the museum provides a forum for art through viewing, dialogue, and an understanding of the creative process.

Jake McCord at the Baron and Ellin Gordon Art Galleries
Thirty works by Jake McCord will be on display in the exhibition Jake McCord: Paintings from the Porch, on view at the Baron and Ellin Gordon Art Galleries at Old Dominion University from January 12 through May 4, 2024.
The Baron and Ellin Gordon Art Galleries exhibit works by nationally and internationally recognized self-taught artists, contemporary artists working in all media, and local and regional artists connected with Old Dominion University.
